On April 28, 2025, the Selangor State Government launched the Selangor Care Accelerator 2025 (XCare) programme, aiming to stimulate growth in the care industry sector. Spearheaded by the Women, Family Empowerment, Welfare, and Care Economy Committee, XCare aligns with the Selangor Care Economy Policy 2024–2030, focusing on investment and collaboration. 

The programme targets 30 selected care-focused small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Selangor, offering them a four-month intensive development journey. Participants will engage in workshops covering 13 modules, including business innovation, financial management, digital marketing, and data analytics. Additionally, they will receive mentorship from industry experts and participate in local industry visits. 

A key feature of XCare is its structured pitching competition. After initial screenings, 10 businesses will advance to the finals, where the top five will be awarded international industry visits, networking opportunities with investors, and official recognition through trophies and certificates. 

Eligibility criteria include being a Selangor-based business registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), having annual revenues between RM50,000 and RM200,000, operating for at least three years, employing no more than 10 staff, and offering care-related products or services for children, the elderly, or persons with disabilities. Applications were open from February 20 to March 10, 2025.
